“Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.” – Maya Angelou
How do you define success, is it in the material wealth you gain by striving for the next big accomplishment? Is it in having the latest and greatest technologies at your finger tips? Is it being the most well known and a sort after celebrity?
While there is nothing wrong with these things. The problem often lies in the peril of craving “success”. It is that mentality and attitude we can fall into of needing success. What do you do when you achieve your perceived success? How do you handle the responsibility that comes with being successful?
Success is an individual thing, it depends mainly on how you perceive yourself. It is a matter of finding the balance in feeling accomplished no matter what the rest if society thinks. Success is often seen as a destination that you arrive at, however more often than not it is actually the journey you take to the destination that is the success.
As quoted above, to be successful you have to like yourself, like what you do and like how you do it. So how do you do all these things. It takes setting goals, reflecting on those goals. Striving to be the best YOU that you can be. As there is no point trying to reach for other peoples goals and make them your own as you will find no satisfaction in that.
The world is your oyster, so go find it and open it and make it yours 🙂
