The next best thing to winning the lotto…Is hard work, determination and perseverance!
I know it sounds completely silly and almost crazy to compare winning the lotto with hard work, determination and perseverance. But think about it, what chance do you have of winning the lotto, if you never enter the lotto then well you have a zero chance of winning unless someone buys you a winning ticket, if you actually enter the lotto on a regular basis or even once in a while you have an almost zero chance of winning the lotto.
So if I say that hard work, determination and perseverance is the next best thing what I am really saying is that it is better and more rewarding than the possibility of winning lotto. Let’s face it, if we get something for nothing we are more than likely to make some unwise choices that may seem fun in the moment but will probably not get us any further in life. However on the flip side, if we have put all our energy into pursuing something worthwhile then we are more likely to be wise in the decisions we make with any reward we receive from our hard work.
I love seeing the smiles on my kids faces when they have mastered a new skill. A little while ago my son was learning to count and I was starting to wonder if he would ever manage to count to ten. We kept counting over and over again from one to ten in the hope that he would master it and master it he did. My son now counts up into the hundreds all by himself! His hard work, perseverance and determination paid off and his ability to count has gone far beyond our expectations!
Okay so this may seem like a very simple illustration but think about it, he had childlike faith that if he kept trying he would eventually get there.
What is it that you are working on, that you keep persevering at wondering if your hard work will ever pay off? Maybe you are still hoping to win the lotto and supposedly solve all your problems and fulfill all your dreams. Maybe you are wondering if it is worth all the hard work? Maybe your determination is starting to fail and you are starting to wonder why you keep trying?
