I don’t know about you, but I don’t always love the feeling of being challenged! Sometimes it downright hurts.
We all face challenges on a daily basis, some are easier than others. Some are life changing challenges that require lots of hard work and dedication to see us through! Those are the challenges that increase our capacity!
With increased capacity comes increased challenges!
“and the man became rich, and gained more and more until he became very wealthy. He had possessions of flocks and herds and many servants, so that the Philistines envied him.” Genesis 26:13-14 (ESV)
If I want God to grow an area of my life it will require stretching and discomfort. This process will force me out of my comfort zone and into the arms of God, causing me to rely solely on God for all of my needs!
In the scripture from Genesis 26:13-14 above God is giving Issac more wealth, more influence, more prestige and more possessions, but this doesn’t come without bigger challenges!
This doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t strive for more capacity, indeed we should be continually striving for more of what God has for us. The more capacity we ask for the bigger our desire for Gods will in our lives will shine. This desire won’t come without challenges but that is a good thing even a God thing as it will draw us closer to Him in the mist of the challenge and then when the challenges pass we will be able to look back and praise God for His never failing love and for bringing us through and in deeper relationship with Him!
