The hidden blessing of failure…sounds strange right? I know. It seems a little bit silly to be saying that there could possibly be any blessing in failing at something. But stay with me on this one…
I believe that sometimes God allows us to fail at something temporarily to save us from failing permanently. This allows us to fall and stumble a little, but in this time of what seems like doom and gloom we are reminded to cling to our Heavenly Father the author and perfecter of our faith. It is in these times of failure that God is able to shine through His blessing upon us, and often the temporal fail makes room for the more permanent success, or breakthrough.
This follows on from growing our capacity, as we grow and are stretched we create more room for the possibility of failure, but if we hold tight to God’s word and promises those slight failures will become great teaching tools and will help us not to make the same decisions when it comes to the bigger things that God is creating capacity for within us!
The blessing that can be found in failure is that at times God requires us to go through some failure before He can grant us success. These failures are a time of growth and increasing capacity.
“In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 1:6-7 (ESV)
