This month being the month of love, I am focusing on how we can love others more and how the Fathers love impacts our everyday lives.
February is the month my father was born and every year we love to get together as a family and celebrate him. The only difference is that he is not here to celebrate with us as he went to be with the Lord almost 9 years ago! But as a family we still take the time to have a meal and reflect on how much we still love him and how much he loved us. It is a beautiful and emotional time. He would now have 5 grandchildren and only had the privilege of meeting one of them. So for us it is important that the children get to hear about him and how much he would have loved them, that way he is still part of their lives.
This leads me to talk about the Fathers love, our Heavenly Father. He loves us so very much! We are all very special to him. He took the time to hand carve our every being. He knows every intricate detail about us! How incredible is that, the same God who created the universe is the one who made us! And not only did He make us He invites us to have a personal connection with Him. We have have a deep and loving relationship with Him while we are still on earth!
There is something very special about a fathers love! (not taking away from a mothers love) There are many verses in the Bible that talk about the Fathers love for us.
But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8 (ESV)
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17 (ESV)
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. 1 John 3:1 (ESV)
God’s love for us is immeasurable. We cannot comprehend how much He loves and adores us. So much so that he sent His only son to die on the cross for us that we may have a loving and full relationship with Him. How great is that love!
