Finding hope in a lost world…

Sometimes despair is all we have to hold onto. Sometimes life looks so bleak that we have no idea how to raise our heads from our pillows and begin a new day. Hope brings us joy, it gives us a reason to keep on going. It can be so easy to tell someone who is in a tough situation to have hope, to keep looking for the positives.

But do hope and positives always exist? Does every situation have a silver lining? We live in a time where we are so connected yet so distant. We can connect with almost anyone at the touch of a button, we can like people’s pictures or videos or status. But after a while the feelings of joy we once had in doing those things starts to fade and we are left trying to find hope in a lost world yet once again.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t think the whole world is lost. I just think it is super easy for us as individuals to get lost in the world these days. If you are not doing bigger and better things to get more attention then you can easily become a lost statistic that was once a big thing or a must watch.

We need to stop trying to find our hope from external sources, such as social media and technology addictions, our financial status or lack of, alcohol abuse, gambling and compulsive shopping to name a few. While they can be a great place to start or a quick pick me up when we are feeling flat. Long term we need to know where our hope comes from, we need to have a grounded faith that will sustain us through the hard times and the fun times.

We need to take time out from our lost and busy world, to find our hope that lies within. The supernatural hope that comes from above. The hope that not only sustains us but gives us the courage and ability to help others find their hope.

In the words of Dory from Find Dory we just have to “keep swimming.”

The only way we can find our hope is to keep growing our faith. We have to keep getting up and keep moving forward. We can’t allow ourselves to get stuck and remain stuck. We need to take the time to set our plans in place. To discover who we are and what makes us happy. To work out what we want in life and the steps we need to take to make it happen.

Start small. Dream big. But never stop moving.

If you are feeling lost I hope you can find the hope to keep moving forward today. Take a few minutes to find your focus and start fresh.

You can do all that you dream of doing and more if only you will let yourself try.
